Welcome to Troop 301 !

Welcome To the Troop 301 Webpage! BSA Troop 301 is chartered in Belmont, CA. Our troop meetings are held in Tierra Linda Middle School in San Carlos, CA.  We are in the Redwood District of the Pacific Skyline Council.

We have approximately 50 Scouts in our Troop and we meet three Mondays a month at 7:30pm at Tierra Linda Middle School in San Carlos. We have at least one outing scheduled for every month. Our outdoor program has an emphasis on variety and includes; backpacking, rock climbing, day hikes, winter camping, deep snow camping, snowboarding & skiing, whitewater rafting, sea kayaking, summer camps, 50-miler treks and Philmont treks. Our Troop 301 Mission Statement is: As a Boy Scout Troop we will:

  1. Strive to follow the Scout Oath, Law, and Motto in our daily lives.
  2. Emphasize a boy led program with a variety of outdoor activities.
  3. Promote youth self-sufficiency in the wilderness and at home.
  4. Produce confident leaders who can lead by example.

Summer Camp 2015 June 21-27 Sign up and pay this month (April)

 Summer camp is icing on the Scouting cake and there is no better place to enjoy the sweet treat than at CampOljato. Whether it is your Scouts first time to camp or his sixth, going to CampOljato offers the perfect way to cap off a productive and rewarding year of Scouting. New Scouts will jump start there way to first class and older Scouts will continue their trail to Eagle and beyond. Let the adventure begin! (See attached document for details). Step 1. Register on troop website  Step 2. Write check to "Troop 301 (see below for amounts) Step 3. Hand check to either Mr Aguirre or Mr Gellrich (please make arrangements prior to ensure that either will be at a given troop meeting).  

Caving Trip

March 14-15, 2015: Moaning Caves/Calveras Big Trees Overnight. 
   We will meet at the Safeway parking lot at 6:45 am Sat. for the trip to Moaning Caves up in the Gold Country. We will be taking the walking tour of the caves ( which are the deepest open to the public in Calif.) and descend 165 feet below ground, there is also a 35 foot high climbing wall. So all scouts will be able to go to great depths and great heights all in 2 hours.

Come build the monkey bridge Saturday Feb. 28th!! 
We're building it for Pack 83's bridging at Twin Pines Park, Belmont starting at 2pm.  Please come in full formal uniform, ready to build and then welcome two new Scouts to the troop. 
Snacks will be provided -- be sure to sign up online so that there's enough. 
If you can't make the building itself, come for the ceremony at 4pm -- we want to have a very visible presence!

Mission Peak Rim Rover 10-miler - Sun., 2/22

Hike to the top of Mission Peak in Fremont and earn the Rim Rover Badge and Mission Peak Rocker.  This 10-mile hike qualifies for those working on the Hiking Merit Badge.
  • Meet at 8:00 AM at the Ralston Safeway.
  • Bring brown-bag lunch and water.
  • Dress in layers with hat and sunscreen.
  • Signup on the Troop website.
