Welcome to Troop 301 !

Welcome To the Troop 301 Webpage! BSA Troop 301 is chartered in Belmont, CA. Our troop meetings are held in Tierra Linda Middle School in San Carlos, CA.  We are in the Redwood District of the Pacific Skyline Council.

 

 2013 Camp Oljato

 

(Troop 301 at Camp Royaneh Scout Reservation, Summer Camp, 2014, Cazadero, California)

We have approximately 50 Scouts in our Troop and we meet three Mondays a month at 7:30pm at Tierra Linda Middle School in San Carlos. We have at least one outing scheduled for every month. Our outdoor program has an emphasis on variety and includes; backpacking, rock climbing, day hikes, winter camping, deep snow camping, snowboarding & skiing, whitewater rafting, sea kayaking, summer camps, 50-miler treks and Philmont treks. Our Troop 301 Mission Statement is: As a Boy Scout Troop we will:

  1. Strive to follow the Scout Oath, Law, and Motto in our daily lives.
  2. Emphasize a boy led program with a variety of outdoor activities.
  3. Promote youth self-sufficiency in the wilderness and at home.
  4. Produce confident leaders who can lead by example.

Come build the monkey bridge Saturday Feb. 28th!! 
We're building it for Pack 83's bridging at Twin Pines Park, Belmont starting at 2pm.  Please come in full formal uniform, ready to build and then welcome two new Scouts to the troop. 
Snacks will be provided -- be sure to sign up online so that there's enough. 
If you can't make the building itself, come for the ceremony at 4pm -- we want to have a very visible presence!

Mission Peak Rim Rover 10-miler - Sun., 2/22

Hike to the top of Mission Peak in Fremont and earn the Rim Rover Badge and Mission Peak Rocker.  This 10-mile hike qualifies for those working on the Hiking Merit Badge.
  • Meet at 8:00 AM at the Ralston Safeway.
  • Bring brown-bag lunch and water.
  • Dress in layers with hat and sunscreen.
  • Signup on the Troop website.

Merit Badge Midway Announcement

Midway (Jan. 31) attendee reminder - be sure to bring merit badge blue cards.
For any merit badges completed at the midway, please bring those blue cards to the Court of Honor on Feb. 2 or the Troop Meeting on Feb. 9 and give to our Advancement Chair, Dan Ziman.  We plan to award those merit badges at a future troop meeting.

Summer Camp $375 by 3/31 (Payable to Troop 301 - hand check to Mr Aguirre)

Camp Oljato has completeaquatics, nature, handicrafts, and shooting sports areas which are complemented by our highly-rated dining hall and food service team. 

Camp Oljato (pronounced ole-JAY-toe) is located on Huntington Lake in Lakeshore, CA (Fresno County). Our camp's property ranges in elevation from 7,000 to just under 8,000 feet. The camp is about 240 miles from the Pacific Skyline Council, San Mateo/Santa Clara area, about 5-6 hours driving time. Camp Oljato is accessible only by pontoon boats which run on a regular schedule during our Scout camping season.
